As was typical for the time, the Master System version was a diluted port on the 16-bit game. Of course, there were Master System and Game Gear ports too. RoboCop Versus The Terminator on the Mega Drive is often looked on as one of the system’s better games and most definitely a fan favourite. With you playing as RoboCop in both the present and future batting T-800s and more. The Mega Drive version is that classic side-scrolling shooter stuff that the RoboCop games were famed for. I’ll begin with the Sega versions of the game first. These various games were inspired by those comics and some much more directly than others. There had already been some RoboCop Versus The Terminator comic books released in 1992. In keeping with tradition so far, again we have different games released on different platforms, just so I have more to cover than needed. It’s also a game that brought two classic 80s sci-fi icons together… because we never got a film version. When it does come out, though, it’s planned for release on all major consoles, presumably Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 and maybe Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as PC.Time for some more RoboCop games and we’re starting off with a game not based on any of the films for the first time (not even the not very good TV shows). The game is still pretty early in development, and isn’t planned to come out until 2023 at the earliest. RoboCop: Rogue City – a first-person shooter based on the original RoboCop trilogy – is coming to consoles and PC in 2023. “Faithful to this monument of science fiction, this first-person action-adventure game will ask you to save the city of Detroit from criminals and other crooked corporations,” the official press release reads. Theoretically, this should mean new foes and new threats, though I’d bet good money that we’re going to get at least one appearance from ED-209. Rather than being an adaptation of the original trilogy, Rogue City is slated to tell an original story set in the same universe. The game is being published by Nacon, and has received the official blessing of MGM Studios. Teyon, developer of Terminator: Resistance, announced earlier this week that they are working on RoboCop: Rogue City, a first-person shooter game based on the original RoboCop film trilogy.
